I’m a Londoner but currently live in New Jersey, USA. To summarize my work, the most recurring themes are: ‘the digital’, distillation, and word play. Visually I have experimented extensively with pixelation and the low-fi aesthetic of the screen-grab but more recently I’ve moved on to a purer conceptualism, albeit with a humorous bent. My subjects, ranging from candy wrappers and emojis to haute couture and works of art reflect a fascination for the man-made and the everyday - the same kinds of things that fascinated pop artists like Andy Warhol or Ed Ruscha. My work takes the form of digital prints, sculpture, video, books, painting, and I even tried my hand at a few NFTs! I used to be represented by Benrubi Gallery in New York and am a founding member of the ABC Artists' Books Cooperative.
Exhibition highlights include: 'Signs of a Struggle: Photography in the Wake of Postmodernism' at the Victoria & Albert Museum, London, UK in 2011, and a two-person show, 'Mosaico', with the American photographer John Pfahl at Nina Freudenheim Gallery, Buffalo, USA in 2012. Other museum shows include 'Sight Reading: Photography and the Legible World' (2016) at the Morgan Library & Museum, New York, which presented my Pixles series (based on Beatles album covers) and 'Fiction and Fabrication: Photography of Architecture after the Digital Turn' (2019) at MAAT, Lisbon, Portugal, which showed pictures from my Designer Labels series. In 2021 postcards featuring a Dutch stamp that I designed for a mail art project with ABC Artists’ Books Cooperative were included in ‘Send Me An Image: from postcards to social media’ at C/O Berlin Foundation.

Stampa, 2023, Ink on Paper, 22 x 16 inches. A collaboration between 29 artists who each contributed a design for a rubber stamp, specifying ink color and position, to be printed on a single sheet of paper. My stamp was “LAST BUT NOT LEAST” in green ink at the lower right corner.

Morrisons. Lidl, and Aldi from WalmArt, 2006, a series of low resolution photographs of supermarket aisles evoking the omnipresence of the security camera.

Galerie Andreas Schmidt, Berlin, Germany - An Act of Collective Faith
Cogito eBay Sum, 2018, fourteen photographs sourced from eBay auctions of various objects which happen to feature some of the artist’s favorite sayings, such as better late than never, maybe tomorrow, and it doesn’t really matter. Together they form a self portrait of sorts. The second hand frames were also found on eBay.
Lewis Vuitton, 2018, Riso print with gold leaf. A photograph of Jeff Koons holding one of the handbags he designed for Louis Vuitton is overlaid with the artist’s own monogram, JL. Bottom right is a faux leather bound book of the same title, which reproduces photographs and sardonic comments from the official LV Instagram page of a star-filled yet gauche launch party for the handbag collection in Paris. The pages of the book, which can be viewed here, are gilt edged.
Loading, 2015, Lightjet print on Fuji Crystal Archive paper. An amalgam of phone screenshots of Google Image Searches for gun manufacturers taken quickly before the thumbnail images had time to fully load (all bar one, Mulwin Hulbert). An alphabetical list of American arms makers directed the order of search and over an intense three hour period the screenshots, recording time and declining battery levels, narrate the phone’s gradual demise. The series was also issued as a book here.

ABCEUM (pronounced AY-BEE-SEE-UHM) was a group project initiated by ABC Artists’ Books Cooperative, which reimagined the institution of the museum as series of books. Each artist chose a particular aspect or department for their book and further details can be found here. Shop, 2014, paired lyrics from Kraftwerk’s The Model with crude examples of Mona Lisa merchandising. Following the collaboration the book was reissued under another title, The Model, and may be previewed here.

The Pixles, 2003, inkjet on paper, 12x12 inches. Six prints from a series which distills Beatles album covers down to an almost unrecognizable array of 12 by 12 pixels. Bottom left is Sgt Pepper and bottom right Abbey Road. The whole series was published in an LP-sized book here.
